Root Canal Therapy
Endodontics, which is more commonly known as "root canal therapy", involves the care and treatment of the "dental pulp", inside the tooth, which includes the nerves, tissue, arterioles and venules. When any of these become injured or diseased, or a tooth is cracked, endodontic treatment is usually required to save it. Endodontics, which comes from the Greek roots, endo (inside), and odont (tooth), usually involves removing diseased pulp from the canal and filling it with endodontic material. The operation itself is typically virtually painless, and the recovery time is usually fairly rapid.
